About the Role

Hanover is seeking a motivated and skilled Consultant to join their Healthcare Communications team in London. This role involves delivering public relations services to existing healthcare clients, contributing to new business, and managing projects. The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial and adaptable in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

  • Staying abreast of the media to identify coverage opportunities and issues.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with journalists and patient groups.
  • Actively participating in client meetings and managing projects against timelines and budgets.
  • Providing timely review of media monitoring reports.
  • Identifying reactive opportunities in the news agenda and drafting press releases.
  • Project managing client events, including press conferences and media events.
  • Contributing creatively to new business pitches.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members.
  • Demonstrating thorough understanding of Hanover's financial and marketing systems.
  • Translating health and science stories for various audiences.
  • Developing and implementing PR campaigns for clients.

Requirements

  • Good knowledge of healthcare/pharmaceutical PR.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Client focused with close attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with relevant media (print, broadcast and digital).
  • Familiarity with digital communication channels.
  • Curiosity about the news and industry environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing deadlines.
