About the Role
Sun River Health is seeking a Full Time Medical Assistant to support our Riverhead location. The Medical Assistant will assist patients and the clinical team by performing various duties to support medical care as directed by nursing and medical staff, in compliance with Center policies.
Responsibilities
- Complete the rooming process, take vital signs, and perform vision/hearing tests.
- Record patient data in eCW, including laboratory results, pain level, PEAS, PhQ, and smoke status.
- Document the reason for patient visits.
- Perform in-house labs and collect specimens for outside labs.
- Perform quality control for laboratory procedures in accordance with organizational protocols.
- Maintain stock levels in the clinical area and ensure it is in good order.
- Manage dated materials, ensuring they are current and disposing of outdated supplies.
- Clean and sterilize all equipment, maintaining logs of these services.
- Perform basic clerical work within the service area.
- Answer phones appropriately and communicate patient issues/concerns to nursing staff.
- Handle telephone inquiries.
- Ensure all appropriate logs are maintained.
Requirements
- High School diploma/ GED with Medical Assistant Training Certificate
- 0-1 year of related work experience
