About the Role
Modo Energy is establishing its Advisory Services team in the US and seeks founding Market Advisors to build this practice. This role will leverage Modo Energy's data, forecasts, and research to provide clients with tailored solutions for critical decisions in energy asset transactions and financing. You will be responsible for originating work, conducting analysis, and defending your findings directly to clients and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Provide commercial due diligence and transaction support for clients buying, selling, or raising finance against batteries and clean energy assets.
- Originate advisory work in the US market: build a pipeline, qualify it, price it, and convert it.
- Transform Modo Energy's data, forecasts, and research into tailored outputs for specific client decisions.
- Conduct analysis, build revenue cases, and defend assumptions and sensitivities to investment committees, lenders, or counterparties.
- Present analysis directly to clients, banks, and counterparties.
- Represent Modo Energy at US industry events.
- Own projects end to end, from initial client conversation to final presentation.
- Develop a working knowledge of storage and clean energy economics across major US power markets.
Requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of US power and storage markets sufficient to advise clients.
- Experience in advising on these markets, including commercial due diligence, transaction advisory, or consulting.
- Experience operating within the energy sector at an IPP, fund, optimizer, developer, or utility.
- Proven track record of originating and winning advisory work, engagements, mandates, or deals.
- Established relationships with investors, lenders, and developers.
- Experience building and presenting financial models to investment committees and lender meetings.
- Ability to defend analysis and assumptions under challenge.
- Ability to thrive with autonomy and responsibility, seeking opportunities proactively.
- Desire to build a practice and a career within a growing company.
- Ability to start within a reasonable timeframe.
- Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
