About the Role
Jericho Road Community Health Center is seeking a General Dentist to join their Dental Department. This role offers the opportunity to work with a purpose, contributing to a movement focused on positive influence, community health, and systemic health equity. The position is based at the 1021 Broadway location and offers flexibility in work hours.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on patient care for all visits, including examinations during hygiene visits.
- Examine, review, and consult patient medical records for evaluation, diagnostic, and treatment decisions.
- Diagnose dental problems by checking teeth, gums, mouth, and analyzing X-rays and tests.
- Advise patients on the best course of treatment and provide customized exams and plans.
- Prepare patients for treatment, including sedation or anesthetic application.
- Perform surgical procedures on the teeth, bone, and soft tissues of the oral cavity, such as tooth extractions and root canal procedures.
- Identify tooth decay and replace cavities with fillings.
- Design and fit dental prosthetics, such as bridges, crowns, and dentures.
- Apply teeth-whitening treatments.
- Prescribe medication as needed.
- Educate patients on proper brushing techniques, flossing, and fluoride use.
- Promote good oral health and preventive dental care.
- Refer patients for specialty consultation or treatment in conformance with approved clinical protocols.
- Maximize revenue while decreasing costs for the dental practice and organization.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities including delegating, sound decision making, empowering others, and collaborating with leadership on strategic goals.
- Attend mandatory trainings and utilize continued education credits.
- Maintain current certifications, including all mandatory annual and CPR training.
- Adhere to professional code of ethics and comply with FQHC requirements.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Dental Program.
- Possession of licensure to practice as a dentist in the state of New York or in process of licensure.
- Preferred: 2+ years of experience at a dental practice.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to make mature decisions autonomously and with input from others.

- $140,000 - $150,000 annually, with room for negotiation.
