About the Role

As a Sonographer, you will provide ultrasound support for VEG hospitals and training facilities, working closely with emergency doctors to perform same-day ultrasound scans. You will also assist in coordinating education and training for ultrasound skills across hospitals, inspiring colleagues and contributing wherever needed.

Responsibilities

Perform ultrasound studies and facilitate ultrasound training at home and regional hospitals.
Maintain relationships with and accept feedback from teleconsultation radiologists.
Ensure training content aligns with VEG culture, mission, and vision, and represents accurate sonographic techniques.
Track doctor and nursing team skills with a VEG Ultrasound Certificate checklist.
Engage in self-reflection and program evaluation to enhance VEG’s ultrasound training programs.
Meet regularly with medical directors, nursing trainer, and director of radiology education to discuss program development and training needs.
Meet regularly with hospital manager and medical director to discuss training protocols, schedules, and team concerns.
Coordinate weekly schedule to work floor shifts and devote time to training responsibilities.
Assist in developing ultrasound curriculum material, such as PowerPoints, videos, simulations, and assessments.
Provide educational demonstrations for doctors and nurses at other VEGs, including abdominal, thoracic, cardiac, cervical, and musculoskeletal studies.

Requirements

Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT/LVMT), diagnostic medical sonographer (RDMS), and/or equivalent experience (e.g., sonographer course certificates).
3+ years veterinary ultrasound experience.
Previous training experience and the patience to teach and develop doctors, nurses, and fellow sonographers.
Comfortable mentoring others and giving/receiving feedback from colleagues.
Adaptability to changing environments.
Excellent communicator with peers, customers, and VEGgies.

Eagerness to grow as a sonographer through training and continuing education.
Desire to travel to regional hospitals and off-site training facilities.
