About the Role

Jericho Road Community Health Center is seeking a General Dentist to join their Dental Department. This part-time role offers flexibility in work hours and the opportunity to make a significant impact on community health and well-being, with potential for global engagement.

Responsibilities

Provide hands-on patient care, including examinations during hygiene visits.
Examine, review, and consult patient medical records for treatment decisions.
Diagnose dental problems using oral examinations, X-rays, and tests.
Advise patients on treatment options and provide customized plans.
Prepare patients for treatment, including administering sedation or anesthetic.
Perform surgical procedures such as tooth extractions and root canals.
Identify and treat tooth decay by replacing cavities with fillings.
Design and fit dental prosthetics like bridges, crowns, and dentures.
Administer teeth-whitening treatments.
Prescribe medication as necessary.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices.
Promote good oral health and preventive dental care.
Refer patients for specialty consultations as needed.
Maximize revenue and decrease costs for the dental practice and organization.
Demonstrate leadership qualities, including delegation and decision-making.
Attend mandatory trainings and utilize continuing education credits.
Participate in quality improvement activities.
Maintain current certifications, including CPR training.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited Dental Program.
Possession of licensure to practice as a dentist in New York or be in the process of obtaining licensure.
Strong leadership skills and ability to make mature decisions autonomously and with input from others.
