About the Role
Jericho Road Community Health Center is seeking a Dental Hygienist to join their Dental Department. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a global movement focused on health equity and community well-being.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient screening procedures, including oral health assessment, health history review, oral cancer screening, head and neck inspection, dental charting, and blood pressure measurement.
- Remove calculus and plaque from all tooth surfaces.
- Apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluorides.
- Sterilize dental instruments and tools.
- Instruct patients of all ages on proper dental hygiene and care.
- Take and develop X-rays for dentist's use.
- Provide chair-side assistance during dental procedures.
- Meet quality and patient care standards.
- Assist in patient recruitment and clinic growth.
- Perform documentation and maintain patient history.
- Chart dental conditions based on dentist's observations.
- Attend continuing education classes to maintain certification.
- Conduct assigned department activities, including administrative support, regulatory checklists, and supply ordering.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Dental Hygienist Program.
- Possession of licensure to practice as a dental hygienist issued by the New York State Department of Education.
- Anesthetic certification preferred.
