About the Role
Supervise and coordinate activities of room attendants engaged in cleaning and maintaining hotel premises. Maintain high performance and productivity by setting quality standards aligned with Kimpton values and collaborating with other departments to ensure exceptional guest service.
Responsibilities
- Assist in staff selection, recruitment, hiring, and training of housekeeping personnel.
- Ensure meeting rooms are set up according to event requirements.
- Confirm housekeeping staff attendance and arrange for substitutes when necessary.
- Prepare and distribute room assignments and keys to housekeeping attendants.
- Periodically check floors, update room status, and identify service improvement opportunities.
- Answer department telephone to promptly respond to guest requests.
- Check and update hotel computer systems for room status information.
- Review and update systems and supplies purchases for guest rooms within budgetary guidelines.
- Provide training on new laws or regulations necessary for safe task performance.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards in guest rooms, linens, uniforms, lost and found, laundry, and janitorial services.
- Establish quality-cleaning programs to preserve the appearance and longevity of hotel assets.
- Submit requests for repair of cleaning equipment.
- Requisition or purchase supplies for hotel room honor bars, toiletries, and paper products.
- Assist the Director of Housekeeping with scheduling regular and irregular maintenance and cleanings of hotel areas.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1+ years of management experience in the hospitality industry.
- Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office.
