About the Role

This internship offers hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering for aerospace electronic products, focusing on mechanical design, production processes, tooling, and documentation. You will collaborate with various departments to enhance product manufacturability and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and update mechanical drawings and engineering change documentation.
• Support mechanical design and detailing for new and existing products.
• Design and develop fixtures, tooling, gages, and other production aids under engineering guidance.
• Create and update work instructions, process documentation, inspection requirements, and supporting visual aids.
• Assist with prototype builds, engineering trials, process validation, and data collection.
• Support continuous improvement projects involving workflow, cycle time, scrap, capacity, and production efficiency.

Requirements

• Candidates must be a U.S. Person, defined as either a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder), and must be able to provide appropriate documentation upon hire to verify this status.
• Some positions involve sensitive customer contracts and require U.S. citizenship as a condition of employment.

Skills

• Foundational understanding of mechanical design, engineering drawings, and manufacturing principles.
• Experience with 3D CAD software through coursework, academic projects, employment, or a previous internship.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or comparable design software.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, tolerances, and basic GD&T concepts.
• Exposure to manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet-metal fabrication, additive manufacturing, or assembly.
• Experience designing fixtures, tooling, prototypes, or other production aids.
