About the Role
This position supports critical naval software delivery operations for Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC-PAC), focusing on the Application Arsenal (AA) platform. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining secure software delivery pipelines across multiple classification domains and challenging operational environments, requiring deep technical expertise in DevSecOps, containerized architectures, and defense-specific platform integration.
Responsibilities
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining secure software delivery pipelines.
- Working within modern Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
- Implementing contemporary software architecture patterns (Microservices, Event-Driven, Serverless).
- Utilizing Git-based version control workflows (GitFlow, Trunk-Based Development).
- Participating in the complete software delivery lifecycle: Software Design, Software Development, Automated Testing, Production Deployment.
- Deploying applications to Kubernetes clusters, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Working within regulated DoD enterprise DevSecOps platforms (e.g., Overmatch Software Armory, Platform One).
- Configuring security gates for policy compliance.
- Implementing automated vulnerability remediation workflows.
- Integrating security scanning results into development feedback loops.
- Maintaining compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements (RMF, STIGs).
Requirements
- Must possess and maintain an active Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
- A master’s degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum five (5) years of demonstrated experience in software development utilizing Agile frameworks.
- Minimum two (2) years of demonstrated experience applying DevSecOps principles in highly regulated government or DoD-mandated environments.
- Minimum Two (2) years of demonstrated experience coding, integrating, and maintaining resilient software architectures for challenging operational environments.
- Demonstrated coding experience in at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Java, C, Go, C++.
- Proven experience developing software for Denied, Disrupted, Intermittent, and Limited-bandwidth (DDIL) environments, including Offline-First Architecture, Data Synchronization, Bandwidth Optimization, and Resilience Patterns.
- Hands-on experience with afloat and ashore Platform as a Service environments (e.g., Navy's ACS, USMC's CHE).
- Demonstrated experience in integrating software securely with Cross-Domain Solutions (CDS), including understanding CDS architecture, secure data transfer, security labeling, and compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience configuring and integrating automated security testing tools (SAST, DAST, SCA, Container Scanners) as quality gates within CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer workstation.
- Ability to use hands and fingers to operate keyboards and mice.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to adjust vision for close, distance, and depth perception.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, or reach; access equipment in data centers, offices, or under desks.
- Ability to lift and/or move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
