About the Role
Novelis is seeking a Mechanical Technician intern to join the team for approximately 10 to 12 weeks. This internship offers the opportunity to participate in meaningful work and gain hands-on industry experience in Mechanical Technology within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
- Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities
- Perform mechanic skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, and test and make adjustments
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
Requirements
- Enrolled in an accredited 2-year Mechanical Technology program
- Interested in gaining hands-on industry experience prior to graduation
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills essential for interacting with all levels of the organization
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer
