About the Role
This position involves supervising a classroom, assisting students with lessons, monitoring attendance, and ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment. The role requires enthusiasm, adaptability, and a strong work ethic, with participation in dismissal procedures and collaboration with team members.
Responsibilities
- Supervises the classroom; Assists students, individually or in small groups, with lesson assignments for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts and reaching their academic goals and potential
- Monitors student attendance of the program by collecting attendance rosters; Supervises student participation in structured and unstructured activities; Accepts responsibility for maintenance/necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playground
- Demonstrates enthusiasm, adaptability, dependability, and a strong work ethic; Treats all children with dignity and respect; Attends all staff meetings and recommended training programs and conferences; Supervises all activities to ensure safety at all times; Reports to the Co-Leaders any problem that may occur with the children; Performs additional program duties as assigned by the Co-Leaders according to the School's needs
- Participates in dismissal procedures at the end of After Care, ensuring that each child leaves with the appropriate adult; Greets parents and children with salutations; Works with other staff members to form a positive, supportive team atmosphere
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree
- Candidates who have relevant experience in key job responsibilities are encouraged to apply— a degree is not required as long as the candidate meets the required years of experience specified in the job description.
- All candidates must have valid U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and maintain that valid work authorization throughout employment.
