About the Role
New Castle Metal is seeking a Senior Manager of Operations to oversee processes, safety, and technical systems. This role is crucial for maintaining operational efficiency and upholding the company's core values.
Responsibilities
- Manage machinery and equipment uptime, upkeep, and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Lead equipment vendor relationships and resolve related issues.
- Participate in equipment procurement and divestment decisions.
- Serve as the system owner for MaintainX (Asset Management software).
- Create, implement, and train employees on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for various operational functions.
- Maintain quality management for all fabricated products and ensure quality assurance.
- Implement corrective actions as needed and perform audits of fabrication performance.
- Oversee the production planning process and identify solutions for bottlenecks.
- Support inventory management, including purchasing, stock levels, and write-offs.
- Manage employee relations within operational teams.
- Participate in recruiting, onboarding, coaching, mentoring, and offboarding for operational and production staff.
- Lead safety initiatives to minimize OSHA recordable metrics.
- Conduct incident investigation root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare and deliver weekly safety training.
- Participate in captive insurance risk control workshops.
- Spearhead 5-S and Lean initiatives to optimize facility cleanliness and organization.
Requirements
- Experience in managing operational processes, safety, and technical systems.
- Proficiency in equipment management and vendor relations.
- Experience with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Quality Management.
- Knowledge of inventory management and production planning.
- Experience in employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, coaching, and offboarding.
- Proven ability to lead safety initiatives and conduct incident investigations.
- Familiarity with 5-S and Lean methodologies.
