About the Role
As a Radiology Technician, you will perform diagnostic imaging examinations to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. Your expertise in operating radiologic equipment will ensure high-quality images while maintaining patient safety and comfort. You will prepare patients, explain procedures, and position them correctly. Collaboration with radiologists and healthcare professionals is key for reviewing images and documentation. Your work directly contributes to effective patient care and the success of the medical facility.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain radiologic equipment to perform diagnostic imaging procedures such as X-rays, CT scans, and fluoroscopy.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Position patients accurately to obtain the best possible images while minimizing exposure to radiation.
- Review images for quality and clarity, and assist radiologists by providing necessary technical information.
- Maintain patient records and imaging logs in compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy standards.
- Adhere to safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and self from unnecessary radiation exposure.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and follow-up imaging needs.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Certification or licensure as a Radiologic Technologist as required by the state or country of practice.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification.
- Strong understanding of radiologic safety and radiation protection principles.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
