About the Role

As our Machine Integration intern, you'll design and build the physical interfaces between our autonomy system and heavy construction equipment, as well as the test stands used to validate them before deployment.

Responsibilities

• Integrate sensors, compute, and wiring onto machines alongside the hardware team
• Design brackets, enclosures, and interface hardware in CAD, then help fabricate and install them
• Build test stands for validating subsystems on the bench instead of in the field
• Run lab tests, capture data, and iterate on designs based on what breaks
• Document build and install procedures
• Close the loop with the field team on what's working and what isn't

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a BS or MS in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, robotics, or a related field — or bringing equivalent hands-on experience
• Willingness to work on and around heavy equipment in PPE

Skills

• CAD proficiency (SolidWorks, Onshape, or similar)
• Genuine hands-on shop skills
• Basic electrical competence: harnessing, connectors, multimeter, reading a schematic
• Wiring harness design or manufacturing experience
• Exposure to off-highway, automotive, or industrial equipment
• Machining, welding, or 3D printing experience
