About the Role

The Architectural & Engineering CAD Faculty supports learning across all distance learning modalities and on campus. This role involves teaching introductory through advanced Electronic CAD courses, preparing and delivering engaging coursework that reflects a commitment to student success and fostering an environment of belonging. The position begins in January 2027.

Responsibilities

Prepare and teach courses in Electronic CAD to a multicultural student population based on approved course learning outcomes, using diverse instructional strategies.
Participate in departmental responsibilities and governance, including curriculum review, program review, and assessment of student learning outcomes.
Evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback aligned with program learning outcomes and departmental expectations.
Serve as a mentor to students in the Electronic CAD program.
Provide teaching and mentoring services without discrimination based on protected categories.
Remain current in the field through professional development activities.
Support division and department goals through active engagement in decision-making and planning.
Serve on collegewide and departmental committees, councils, work groups, and task forces.
Perform other related tasks as assigned by department leadership.
Coordinate Architectural & Engineering CAD faculty in the Electronic CAD Specialization area.
Serve as a liaison between the Architectural & Engineering CAD program and area high school technology preparatory programs.

Requirements

Demonstrated proficiency using computer applications, online resources, and other classroom technologies.
Demonstrated proficiency using an online learning management system (e.g., Blackboard) for course development and administrative duties.
Professional-level proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD, Cadence Virtuoso, Allegro, and other industry-standard technologies for IC layout, PCB, semiconductor, and electronic design.
Appropriate use of the college's learning management system.
Meet deadlines for attendance certification and submission of final course grades.
Participate in graduation, general assembly, and other official college functions.
Maintain regular office hours to assist students and improve retention and success.
Attend and participate in collegewide, campus, department, or other activities and meetings.
Recognize and reflect standards of civility and collegiality in all interactions.
Comply with published college policies and procedures and meet professional standards for teaching in a community college.

Salary/Compensations

$64,427 - $96,197 (Based on a 10.5 month contract to start Spring 2027)
