About the Role
The Shuttle Driver is responsible for transporting guests to and from various locations in a friendly, efficient, and courteous manner while adhering to safe driving practices. This role also involves assisting guests with luggage and maintaining vehicle logs.
Responsibilities
- Transport guests to and from approved locations.
- Learn and remember pick-up and destination points.
- Possess knowledge of property outlets, meeting rooms, amenities, and local attractions.
- Communicate with guests, staff, and co-workers in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
- Acknowledge and greet guests within 30 seconds.
- Use guest last name at all times when appropriate.
- Maintain accuracy and composure under pressure.
- Operate vehicles that seat eight people or less.
- Inspect vehicle exterior and interior at the beginning of each shift.
- Monitor vehicle condition and report any malfunctions or damage.
- Protect guest confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
- Maintain the security of client financial and identifying information.
- Assist patrons with entering and exiting the vehicle.
- Use specialized equipment such as wheelchair lifts as needed.
- Clean wheelchairs after each use.
Requirements
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check, MVR, and drug screen.
- Must be at least 21 years of age due to vehicle leasing contract requirements.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license at all times.
- Must pass annual/semiannual MVR checks.
- Must complete the Wheelchair Safety Training course provided by Towne Park as applicable.
- Must be able to drive a manual transmission.
Skills
- Ability to read and write standard English.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Ability to add and subtract three-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
- Ability to perform calculations using American currency.
- Ability to understand 24-hour and military time systems.
- Ability to understand rates applicable to time passed.
