About the Role
The Nova Scotia Health (NSH) Department of Radiation Oncology is seeking a Radiation Oncologist for its Cape Breton Cancer Centre (CBCC) site in Sydney, Nova Scotia. This role involves joining a team of four Radiation Oncologists and contributing to the delivery of advanced radiotherapy techniques to patients across Nova Scotia. The position offers an opportunity to be part of an exciting redevelopment initiative with the anticipated opening of a new Cape Breton Cancer Centre in 2027, fostering research, innovation, and program expansion.
Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced radiotherapy techniques including VMAT, IGRT, SRS/SRT, and SBRT.
- Participate in peer review of radical treatments using centralized departmental guidelines.
- Contribute to the academic Dalhousie University Department of Radiation Oncology.
- Administer and deliver a residency training program in Radiation Oncology.
Requirements
- Eligible for licensure in Nova Scotia.
- Certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada would be an asset.
