About the Role
Sun River Health is seeking a Full-time Primary Care Physician (IM/FM) for its Linden Boulevard location in Brooklyn, NY. The physician will manage a diverse patient panel with multiple co-morbidities in a busy Federally Qualified Health Center, collaborating with advanced practice providers and support staff with an emphasis on preventative health and quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Participate in planning and developing health care services and treatment of conditions and illnesses within scope.
- Diagnose and provide treatment plans for patients.
- Collaborate with and supervise advanced provider clinicians.
- Complete and participate in chart review process.
- Refer and follow-up with patients as needed.
- Collaborate with other members of the Health Center to maintain high-quality standards and achieve client satisfaction.
- Oversee the clinical work of students or new providers, ensuring adherence to best practices and organizational standards.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students or new providers, helping them develop clinical skills and professional behavior.
- Facilitate educational sessions, workshops, or seminars to enhance the learning experience of mentees.
- Evaluate the performance of students or new providers, providing constructive feedback and documenting progress.
- Ensure high-quality patient care is maintained while supervising and mentoring students or new providers.
- Work closely with academic institutions and other healthcare professionals to coordinate educational activities and ensure a comprehensive learning experience.
Requirements
- Doctorate Degree (MD, DO)
- Active/Valid license as an MD or DO in New York State
- DEA license
- Board certification
- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse patient population in a community health setting.
Skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)
- Experience in HIV care (preferred)
- Experience in MAT (Medication Assisted Treatment) (preferred)
