About the Role
Borough Kitchen is seeking a skilled and passionate Cook School Chef to lead engaging, high-quality cooking classes and demonstrations. This role involves building customer confidence, sharing knowledge of ingredients, techniques, and recipes, and creating a welcoming, relaxed, and inspiring experience for guests.
Responsibilities
- Host guests in a warm and friendly environment
- Communicate confidently, sharing skills and knowledge, focusing on the 'why' not just the 'how'
- Prepare cooking classes, ensuring ingredients and equipment are ready with a focus on cleanliness, safety, and efficiency
- Deliver engaging and informative cooking classes and demonstrations
- Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and ensuring a positive guest experience
- Maintain a clean and organised cooking area
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards
- Clean down after classes together with the Cook School Assistant
Requirements
- Excellent cooking skills and knowledge of various cuisines and techniques
- Proven experience as a professional chef or culinary instructor
- Passion for food and cooking, with a desire to share knowledge and inspire others
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Food hygiene and safety certification is a plus
