About the Role

As a Graduate Electrical Engineer, you will be part of a 100-percent employee-owned organization that supports and creates many opportunities for you to advance, succeed, and fulfill your career aspirations. You will have the opportunity to work with engineering teams to create detailed designs, plans, and specifications from concept to completion. You will support project managers by undertaking tasks on a wide range of projects.

Responsibilities

Assist senior engineers and the wider team in the design process to gain a detailed working knowledge of all parts of the industry.
Carry out detailed design and calculations in accordance with industry guides.
Assist in preparing specifications, reports, and drawings to the design programme.
Oversee project site works snagging and testing as directed.
Assist Senior Engineers with detailed design tasks and drawing production.
Develop an understanding of different building materials and techniques employed in design.
Carry out detailed design calculations and develop a full understanding of computer design packages.
Maintain a Continuing Professional Development diary to assist in obtaining appropriate qualifications.
Develop an understanding of appropriate Legislation Standards, Building Regulations, and Codes of Practice.
Learn and understand design techniques and develop awareness of other design disciplines.
Maintain a training log on a daily basis, recording achievements and experience.
Attend appropriate and relevant site visits and meetings.
Attend relevant training as required by the practice to achieve Chartered status.
Attend and arrange Lunch time CPD’s and Knowledge Sharing sessions.
Assist in maintaining QA systems on projects.

Requirements

MSc or BEng in Electrical Engineering, Building Services or Equivalent subject.
Good IT knowledge and experience featuring Microsoft Packages.
Personable and a ‘can do’ attitude with resource management experience.
Clear, concise, professional, and personable communication with clients, colleagues, and suppliers.
Ability to project a positive and professional attitude at all times.
Some knowledge and use of appropriate design analysis software is desirable.
Able to establish rapport and good working relationships within the project team and with clients.
Ability to work as part of a team, collaboratively and cooperatively.
