About the Role

This is a hands-on technical leadership position focused on evolving the design of a distributed ledger-based post-trade platform within regulated financial services. The role offers ownership and influence, a steep learning curve, and a path to a formal Technical & Solution Architect position.

Responsibilities

Design scalable, secure distributed systems in regulated environments
Define and evolve system architecture, APIs, and integration patterns
Apply appropriate software design patterns and architectural principles
Contribute to smart contract and ledger design decisions
Ensure auditability, resilience, and operational robustness
Work with distributed ledger technologies and smart contracts
Design models for tokenised assets, natively digital assets, atomic settlement, DvP and RvP mechanisms, and CBDC integration concepts
Evaluate trade-offs between on-chain and off-chain components
Translate regulatory and market structure requirements into technical design
Understand settlement models and post-trade infrastructure
Work within business frameworks such as CSDR and GDPR
Contribute production-quality code in Java, JavaScript, Solidity, SQL
Review code and guide best practices
Improve CI/CD, testing strategies, and observability
Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to engineers, product management, clients, and regulators
Tailor messaging to different audiences
Use structured thinking and persuasive communication to amplify the impact of our technology
Contribute to technical documentation and client materials

Requirements

Strong experience designing and building software products
Solid understanding of distributed systems principles
Experience with distributed ledgers and/or blockchain platforms
Familiarity with tokenisation and digital asset concepts
Strong API design experience (REST, event-driven architectures, etc.)
Working knowledge of Java, JavaScript, Solidity, SQL
Understanding of post-trade processes
Familiarity with CSDR, Central securities depositories, DvP and RvP models, Atomic settlement
Appreciation of regulatory constraints in financial infrastructure
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to adjust technical depth depending on audience
Structured and persuasive thinking
Comfortable operating in ambiguity
Ambition to grow into a Technical & Solution Architect role
