About the Role

American Express' Internal Audit Group (IAG) protects and enhances organizational value by providing independent, objective, and risk-based assurance and advisory services. IAG aims to influence how the Company manages risk by leveraging data, automation, and AI, delivering timely risk insights, and developing leaders. The group performs operational audits and seeks individuals passionate about risk management in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Serve as a key team member on operational audit projects by evaluating risk, documenting processes, implementing audit tests, and detailing results.
Research and learn about an audit entity.
Deploy critical thinking to assess potential risks and their impact to the business, using evidence to support conclusions.
Support leaders and senior auditors by collaborating in a team environment, attending walkthroughs, and detailing work papers.
Partner with business process audit teams and management to understand processes, risks, and controls; develop control tests; and analyze results.
Build audit proficiency through ongoing professional development, including strengthening data skills.
Support operational audit projects to evaluate risk, document processes, complete audit tests, and document results.
Deliverables may include documentation of audit planning checklists, work papers, Audit Reports, or other audit documentation.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s degree program.
Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the specified country is required, as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship.
