About the Role
THE·TEAM is seeking a talented lawyer to join the Creators division legal team. This role will support the team's contracting functions by reviewing, editing, and negotiating agreements for THE·TEAM Creators clients, and advising agents and clients on transactional and legal matters. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter in a fast-paced, growing environment.
Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate a high volume of contracts for THE·TEAM Creators clients, including sponsorship/endorsement, appearance, content, production, literary, and other types of deals.
- Conduct research and analysis of specific legal questions and prepare opinions setting forth research results, recommendations, and conclusions in a variety of legal areas.
- Anticipate legal and contract/deal issues, and design and execute strategies to remediate risk to THE·TEAM and its clients.
- Keep current on legislative issues, statutes, decisions, and other important legal developments that may affect THE·TEAM and/or its clients’ interests.
- Support on a range of intellectual property projects, including THE·TEAM-owned IP as well as IP controlled by THE·TEAM clients.
- Assist with dispute resolution and litigation oversight.
- Ensure compliance with THE·TEAM’s corporate policies and procedures (including anti-bribery, AML, data protection and sanctions).
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 1-3+ years of law firm or in-house experience, preferably in a transactional role with some degree of creator and/or entertainment experience.
- Ability to effectively explain legal issues in laymen’s terms to internal stakeholders and THE·TEAM clients.
- Ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels, including junior team members as well as senior and executive-level staff.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable while maintaining professionalism in a fast-past environment, including meeting tight deadlines.
- High emotional intelligence and demonstrated ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
- Self-starter who can work independently, but self-aware and willing to receive and implement feedback.
- Demonstrated passion for the creators industry.
