About the Role

This role supports the press office in a leading German environmental association, contributing to communication efforts on environmental topics and shaping a sustainable future.

Responsibilities

• Support press office with handling press inquiries and preparing press appointments.
• Proofread press releases, comments, background papers, and event notices for content, language, and clarity.
• Assist with media monitoring and analysis across print, online, radio, and television, preparing relevant information for the team.
• Undertake general secretarial tasks, coordinate organizational processes, and provide day-to-day support to the press office.
• Maintain press distribution lists and contact details, ensuring information reaches the intended recipients.

Requirements

• Several years of professional experience as a team assistant in communication, press and public relations, advertising, or events, OR a completed university degree in Journalism, Media Management, Public Relations, or a comparable field.
• Good experience with content management systems and media monitoring tools.
• Strong technical affinity or willingness to quickly learn new programs and platforms.
• Strong interest in environmental policy issues and societal developments, with a willingness to engage with relevant topics.
• Very good German and good English language skills.
• Confident and target-group-oriented use of language.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Structured, independent, and responsible work approach.
• Enjoyment of teamwork.
