About the Role

The Property Fund Finance team is responsible for the financial operations of over £30bn of property funds managed by M&G Real Estate. This role involves providing financial control and oversight services for UK Property Funds.

Responsibilities

  • Perform first review of reporting packs prepared by service providers.
  • Liaise directly with external service providers to query and challenge information.
  • Ensure all agreed deadlines for data hand-offs and submissions are met.
  • Escalate issues and delays promptly to Manager, PFF.
  • Liaise with M&G Real Estate to understand Fund activity.
  • Preparation and first review of cashflow forecasts.
  • First review of annual budgets and budget vs actual analysis.
  • First review of investor returns and review of inputs into investor reports.
  • Preparation of accounting papers for quarterly board meetings.
  • Preparation of cashflow forecasts to support dividend/distribution recommendations.
  • Review of responses to non-standard investor queries.
  • Review of business plans where PFF input is required.
  • Participate in meetings with the fund management team to provide accounting advice.
  • Attend relationship meetings with service providers.
  • Co-ordinate deliverables from service providers to identify efficiencies.
  • Review consolidation workings and final management reporting pack.
  • Review of solvency 2 reporting deliverables.
  • Ensure TPA's provide deliverables in accordance with agreed M&G plc Group timelines.
  • Perform first review of statutory accounts, annual reports and financial statements.
  • Liaise directly with auditors and oversee service providers in provision of supporting information.
  • Perform and evidence robust review using control checklists.
  • Support the Manager with the on-boarding of new acquisitions.
  • Review applicable legal documents and document key risk areas.
  • Support the arrangement of internal financing.
  • Liaison with tax advisors to ensure compliance.
  • Preparation of transaction accounting memos.
  • Perform and evidence appropriate and robust review using control checklists.
  • Challenge existing control assumptions and identify control deficiencies.
  • Creation and maintenance of procedure documents and checklists.
  • Support the Property Fund Finance team in providing financial control and oversight services.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain and enhance controls.
  • Provision of cover to Manager and other team members.
  • Ad hoc tasks and participation in ad hoc projects.

Requirements

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant (or equivalent)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, with Copilot and Visio being beneficial)
  • Confidence to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external parties
  • Confidence to communicate financial information to senior stakeholders
  • Proactive, motivated and diligent approach
  • Attention to detail and analytical mindset
  • Real estate accounting experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of Yardi Voyager is beneficial
