About the Role

The Defensibility & Regulatory Team advises clients on legal liabilities and defense strategies. This role involves advising and upskilling clients to improve their ability to defend legal actions, with opportunities to advise senior management, conduct practice reviews, deliver training, and prepare witnesses.

Responsibilities

  • Advise senior management and c-suite on legal responsibilities and liabilities.
  • Conduct detailed reviews of client practices and stress-test their ability to defend legal action.
  • Report findings to senior management and help clients implement recommendations.
  • Improve knowledge of senior leaders and key stakeholders by delivering training (including Mock Trials/Mock Tribunals).
  • Prepare senior leaders and key stakeholders for court and/or tribunal.
  • Work with other teams within Risk Consulting in simulated crisis management sessions.
  • Market services and bring in additional revenue by developing client and colleague relationships.
  • Improve understanding of the legal landscape for other Marsh colleagues.
  • Manage own diary and projects.

Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor, legal executive or barrister in England, Wales, Scotland or Republic of Ireland.
  • Experience in bringing and/or defending personal injury claims (Casualty position).
  • Experience in defending companies and/or individuals from Health and Safety Prosecutions (Casualty position).
  • Experience in bringing and/or defending employment claims and/or providing non-contentious advice on employment law (Employment position).
  • Comfortable presenting to large groups.
  • Capable of fielding ad-hoc technical questions.
