About the Role
In the role of BIM Coordinator, you will collaborate with a UK-wide team of engineers to deliver national and international projects. Our project portfolio encompasses a variety of sectors, with a significant portion of our current workload concentrated in the Defence & Central Government, industrial, manufacturing, and technology sectors. Responsibilities
- Develop effective working relationships with the Project Manager and client for communication of progress, changes, and issue resolution.
- Manage the BIM process and tools for large-scale, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Provide input to the development of company BIM policies and strategies.
- Implement and ensure team compliance with company BIM policies and strategies.
- Support the BIM Lead in adapting strategies for information management, quality assurance, process optimization, and HR management for effective BIM implementation.
- Ensure compliance with Arcadis and national drafting and BIM standards across all projects.
- Continuously review optimal BIM software and develop business cases for new investments.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading project delivery in a BIM environment.
- Familiarity with implementing BIM accreditation/certification (ISO 19650) in a business setting.
- Experience establishing and managing ISO 19650-compliant processes on projects.
- Ability to train and support team members in BIM processes, protocols, and tools.
- Capable of delivering work on time and within budget with minimal supervision.
- Experience in BIM coordination and management, including running coordination workshops to improve model quality.
- Up-to-date knowledge of industry standards.
- Experience implementing and managing Common Data Environments (CDEs) such as ACC and Bentley ProjectWise.
- Self-motivated to develop and implement strategies, able to take responsibility and prioritise duties.
- Experience in supporting and implementing digital innovation.
- Experience of NBS BIM Toolkit and Uniclassification.
- Experience of information exchange formats such as COBie.
- Have a Degree and/or qualification in a relevant technical subject including elements of Modelling (HND/HNC or equivalent).
- Have achieved Engineering Technician status or equivalent through a recognised professional institution and may be looking to convert this to Incorporated status.
- Have substantial relevant (production) experience in design, drafting or engineering and BIM.
Skills
- Proficient in key desktop applications, especially Autodesk tools (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)).
- Skilled in using software for basic engineering problem-solving.
- Experience with BIM model federation, validation, quality audits, and clash detection using tools such as Navisworks Manage and Solibri Model Checker.
- Prior experience in design, drafting, modelling, and visualisation, including creating and editing BIM models.
- Ability to manage competing demands and demonstrate resilience.
- Knowledge of Dynamo, script writing skills desirable.
- Experience of 4D/5D BIM applications and process would be useful.
