About the Role
Manulife Japan is seeking a Test Manager (Bi-lingual) to lead and guide the test team, manage resources effectively, and ensure the successful delivery of testing work. This role involves defining, designing, and executing various testing phases, improving automation frameworks, and driving best practices in QA and Testing.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the test manager on initial estimates for testing efforts.
- Participate in daily stand-up meetings and defect triage calls.
- Manage defect resolution with different teams.
- Monitor, measure, control, and report on test progress, product quality, results, and completion.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the test team on best practices.
- Mentor and support team members' development through training and growth plans.
- Effectively manage resources to maximize utilization, aligned with plan, budget, and timelines.
- Identify slippage, develop recovery strategies, and resolve issues with technical solutions.
- Ensure appropriate entry/exit criteria for all test phases and obtain sign-off.
- Implement a structured approach to test defect and incident management.
- Track and report on testing activities, including results, coverage, resources, and defects.
- Define, design, and deliver all testing work, including Functional, System Integration, and Regression Testing.
- Support User Acceptance Testing.
- Document queries and defects, providing adequate data for rapid resolution.
- Review testing requirements for change requests and assess impact on plans and schedules.
- Improve and maintain an automation framework.
- Create manual and automated test scripts.
- Ensure configuration management of testware artifacts and traceability of tests.
- Drive standards and best practices in QA and Testing.
- Champion continuous quality improvement through automation.
- Identify test automation opportunities, plan efforts, select tools, and ensure team training.
Requirements
- Previous hands-on experience as a Test Manager.
- Experience working with developers, product specialists, Business Analysts, Project Managers, testers, and business stakeholders.
- Broad knowledge of software development lifecycle (waterfall/agile).
- Knowledge of Cloud technologies.
- Knowledge of functional and non-functional test methodologies.
- Deep knowledge of test automation framework.
- Knowledge and experience in Performance testing, API testing, and cross-browser testing.
- Relevant and demonstrable experience managing relationships with business and external stakeholders.
- Proven track record in delivering on time.
- Experience with test management and defect management tools.
- Fluent in Japanese and English.
