About the Role
Arcadis is seeking an Estimator / Senior Estimator to join their cost management team and work on large scale transport infrastructure projects. This role offers an opportunity to manage the preparation of detailed first principles estimates for heavy civil, road, rail, utilities, and aviation projects, and to support the wider cost management team in delivering cost planning, estimating, and commercial services.
Responsibilities
- Manage the preparation of detailed first principles estimates for heavy civil, road, rail, utilities, and aviation projects.
- Provide probabilistic risk assessments to deliver P50/P90 contingencies.
- Support the wider cost management team in the delivery of cost planning, estimating, and commercial-based services.
- Prepare first principles cost estimates and cost plans.
- Prepare bills of quantities and manage teams to deliver bills of quantities.
- Assess variations, take-offs, and cost proposals.
- Lead technical reviews with designers and for estimates.
- Lead, participate, and contribute to risk and value engineering workshops.
- Work closely with and communicate with internal and external teams to address issues or concerns.
- Assist the Cost and Commercial Management team in establishing and working within agreed parameters and procedures.
Requirements
- Experience in the construction industry is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering similar roles previously.
- Previous experience with Expert Estimation preferred.
- Experience with CostX or other digital takeoff tools is desirable.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of the Australian Infrastructure sector.
- Adept in managing and delivering against challenging and competing timescales.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work well within a team to aligned objectives.
