About the Role

Hydro One is seeking a Senior Manager to join the Indigenous Partnerships & Business Development team. This role will focus on advancing reconciliation and strengthening long-term partnerships with Indigenous communities and governments across Ontario. You will lead a team responsible for engaging with Indigenous communities, managing the development and execution of strategies to build trust, and providing strategic advice to ensure Hydro One's operations align with its Indigenous Relations Policy. This is an opportunity to drive meaningful change within the company and externally.

Responsibilities

• Devise and implement key Indigenous community and government relations strategies and programs.
• Develop corporate policies and procedures that reflect the objectives of Indigenous Relations policy.
• Manage the development and execution of strategies to establish positive relationships with Indigenous communities.
• Provide strategic advice and operational guidance to Hydro One’s Lines of Business.
• Provide strategic advice and counsel to senior management on Indigenous relations strategies and programs.
• Travel to Indigenous communities to establish and maintain strategic relationships with elected officials.
• Establish and maintain relationships with government officials and industry associations.
• Manage sensitive issues involving Indigenous communities, applying judgment and discretion.
• Establish and implement consultation plans for regulatory and government approvals for major transmission projects.
• Lead procedural aspects of consultation with Indigenous communities.
• Negotiate agreements for capacity, traditional knowledge studies, accommodation, and partnerships.
• Lead initiatives to increase Indigenous satisfaction and enhance Hydro One's image.
• Perform analysis and measure performance data for associated activities.
• Provide reports and data for corporate purposes.
• Manage project budgets and maximize the impact of each dollar.
• Ensure availability of appropriate resources for Indigenous relations programs.
• Ensure scope and policy changes are effectively introduced to staff.
• Manage and supervise staff and contractors.
• Develop, plan, schedule, organize, and assign work to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Provide leadership and accountability for assigned work programs and special projects.
• Make effective recommendations on human resource issues.

• Experience in managing energy projects, including the development of Indigenous engagement and consultation plans.
• Experience in building trust-based relationships with Indigenous communities.
• Experience in leading cross-functional teams.
• Strategic thinking ability to tackle complex operational challenges.
