About the Role
As a Safety Intern, you will gain hands-on, real-world experience supporting the mission of ensuring our people return home safely each day. This role offers the opportunity to develop, participate in, and learn key functions within construction management while supporting field teams.
Responsibilities
- Implement and oversee the Project Safety Program, including the development of site safety policies and procedures.
- Monitor construction project activities to ensure compliance with government regulations, client policies, and company procedures.
- Establish and monitor safe working conditions for employees.
- Provide corrective action recommendations and assist in implementing metrics for tracking and reporting performance issues.
- Review project work plans for accuracy and conformance with standards.
- Assist in safety program audits, coaching, and regular onsite training.
- Carry out duties in varying work environments, including diverse weather conditions and terrain.
- Travel and relocate as required for projects.
Requirements
- Must be pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field.
- Knowledge of construction safety and current Federal and OSHA requirements.
- Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
- Strong work ethic.
- Ability to work with all levels in the organization, from craft to leadership.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in varying climates and environments.
- Ability to travel and relocate as required.
