About the Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer (m/f/d) in full-time to strengthen our development team. You will work on the mechanical development and design of housings and assemblies for optical systems and thermal imaging devices, accompanying products from the concept phase to series production.
Responsibilities
- Develop and design housings, assemblies, and mechanical components for optical systems and thermal imaging devices.
- Participate in the coordination of mechanical and electronic system concepts.
- Create and optimize production-ready 3D models and technical drawings in CAD (e.g., SolidWorks).
- Integrate electronic and optical components into overall mechanical systems.
- Accompany technical documentation throughout the entire development process.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments as well as external customers and suppliers.
- Support the transfer of designs into series production.
Requirements
- Completed degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design, Mechatronics, or a comparable technical qualification.
- Sound experience in housing or product design, ideally in the field of optical or electronic systems.
- Experience in the development of technical devices (e.g., industrial, optical, or special technology).
- Proficiency in CAD systems, ideally SolidWorks.
- Very good technical understanding of mechanical and electronic interrelationships.
- Experience in demanding technical applications (e.g., outdoor, industrial, or security environments) is advantageous.
- Structured, precise, and solution-oriented work style.
- Very good German language skills, written and spoken (minimum C1).
