About the Role
You will take on a central role in the development of complex embedded systems for real-time image processing in high-performance and safety-critical applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop concepts and architectures for embedded systems for real-time image processing in low-power thermal imaging systems.
- Program embedded controllers (STM32 / ARM Cortex-M) and optimize existing firmware.
- Develop and integrate algorithms for image processing, data compression, and data streaming.
- Participate in the development of system architectures for embedded Linux or RTOS-based platforms.
- Take on technical project responsibility and coordinate development projects with internal and external partners.
- Work closely with hardware development, external institutes, and service providers.
- Create and maintain technical project documentation.
Requirements
- Completed degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable qualification.
- Several years of professional experience in embedded software development.
- Very good knowledge of C/C++ and embedded system architectures.
- Experience with embedded Linux and/or real-time operating systems (RTOS) is ideal.
- Experience in image processing, ideally including algorithms, streaming, or data compression.
- Knowledge in the field of AI-supported image processing is an advantage.
- Experience in hardware-related development (e.g., sensor technology, understanding of circuits) is desirable.
- Structured, solution-oriented work style and willingness to take responsibility.
- Very good German language skills in speaking and writing (at least C1).
