About the Role

Arrive is seeking a highly skilled European employment and labor law lawyer to join its global legal team. This role will handle a broad range of European and global employment and labor law issues, including works council and trade union matters. You will report to the Senior Counsel, Labor & Employment and partner closely with the People & Culture team and other stakeholders. The position involves advising on day-to-day legal matters, disputes, litigation, projects, and transactions, contributing to HR and employee relations strategies, and championing the use of AI and other technologies to optimize legal services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and day-to-day legal guidance on European and global labor and employment law matters.
  • Advise on workplace investigations, disciplinary issues, performance management, and terminations.
  • Manage litigation and employee relations issues.
  • Draft, negotiate, and advise on employment contracts, senior executive agreements, and other employment documentation.
  • Support and advise on employment and labor aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and internal restructurings.
  • Assist with complex European and global legal projects and strategic HR initiatives.
  • Support navigation of European works council and trade union/collective labor requirements.
  • Manage external counsel for specialized matters.
  • Monitor and anticipate legislative and regulatory developments across Europe and globally.
  • Provide practical and proactive business guidance for compliance.
  • Manage regulatory employment investigations across Europe and globally.
  • Manage European and global employment claims and disputes.
  • Develop, implement, and improve employment policies, procedures, and playbooks globally.
  • Leverage AI and other technologies to drive operational efficiency in legal workflows.
  • Develop and deliver global training programs for HR professionals, managers, and employees.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate law degree from a reputable European university.
  • Active legal credentials or certifications in a European jurisdiction.
  • 5+ years of experience handling European labor and employment law issues.
  • Experience working in-house at a multinational tech company and at a prestigious European law firm is ideal.
  • Strong technical knowledge of European employment and labor law and regulations.
  • Knowledge of works council and trade union consultation processes.
  • Knowledge of country-specific legal frameworks and practice (experience in France is highly desirable).
  • First-class business acumen and ability to align legal strategies with business objectives.
  • Ability to provide high-quality practical advice and guidance to global stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex legal concepts.
  • Strong curiosity, competence, and willingness to embrace AI and emerging technologies.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Fluency in additional European languages (especially French, German, and Swedish) is highly desirable.
  • Collaborative team player mindset.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proven track record of effectively multitasking and prioritizing in fast-moving and scaling commercial environments.
