About the Role
Signature Companies is seeking self-starting, self-motivated, and self-directed independent contractors (1099) to work as Field Consultants. This role offers flexibility and a challenging, independent work environment. You will be responsible for scheduling and conducting on-site High Value Property Surveys, coordinating and completing surveys within your own schedule, managing work assignments, and timely completion of web-based reports. The Field Management team will provide mentoring and support.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and conduct on-site High Value Property Surveys.
- Coordinate and complete surveys within your own schedule.
- Manage accepted work assignments.
- Complete web-based reports in a timely manner.
- Visit properties, take photos and measurements, and note issues for the underwriter.
- Professionally interact over the phone, via email, and in-person with homeowners and insurance agents.
- Identify and document the construction materials/characteristics and unique features of the home.
- Obtain measurements of the home and other structures on the property.
- Generate an estimated replacement value of the home and identify major hazards.
- Communicate gathered information in Loss Control 360 via the Signature website.
Requirements
- Must have a smartphone, tablet, and personal computer.
- Must have a late model reliable vehicle.
- Must have Auto and General Liability Insurance.
- Must have high-speed internet.
- Must have a digital camera or smartphone with a 16mp camera or greater.
- Must have measuring devices such as a laser, soft tape measure, or measuring wheel.

Experience Level
- Experience in Insurance Adjusting, Home Appraisals, Real Estate or Construction is a plus.
- Experience using Rapid Sketch, Xactimate, CAD or other diagramming programs will be helpful.
- Prior underwriting experience is desirable.
- Prior inspection experience on residential homes is desirable.
- Loss control experience desirable.
- Construction experience desired, but not required.
- BA or BS degree desired, but not required.
