About the Role
The Construction team for the Homeless Veteran Program (HVP) leads the planning, design, and development of veteran housing communities that provide safe, high-quality, and supportive living environments for America’s veterans. This role supports the Director of Construction, HVP and Vice President of Construction, HVP in commercial construction and renovation of new acquisitions.
Responsibilities
- Assist in all aspects of new commercial construction projects and extensive commercial renovation projects from planning/scoping to design development, construction management, up until launch & presentation.
- Liaise with project stakeholders concerning project details and deliverables.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of projects.
- Help coordinate and manage project tasks and deliverables.
- Analyze data as required.
- Conduct administrative duties, including maintaining filing systems, setting up meetings, managing communications, and drafting invoices and drawing estimates.
- Track and report project progress.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Construction.
- Report to Senior Management on and off site.
- Manage relationships with general contractors, zoning consultants, city inspectors, and contracted project managers.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7-10 years of construction experience, with emphasis on commercial construction.
- Hospitality construction/renovation experience preferred.
- Proficiency in management and collaborative software tools.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent multitasking skills.
- Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to create and manage construction budgets.
- Ability to multitask multiple projects and supervise personnel.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office/ Google Suite (or equivalent).
- Pre-employment screening, including a background check, is required.
