About the Role

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is dedicated to honoring fallen heroes and eradicating homelessness among veterans. This role focuses on sourcing national and regional employment opportunities for veterans, assisting them in obtaining job opportunities and interviews, and managing all employment-related matters for the Homeless Veteran Program.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial intake and assessment of veteran client needs, interests, skills, abilities, and education.
  • Provide resources for further training, education, or apprenticeship programs to prepare clients for employment.
  • Counsel veteran applicants throughout the employment process, offering coaching on resume development and application submission.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all employment paperwork, including applications and job offers.
  • Collaborate with nationwide business leaders to identify employment opportunities and serve as a liaison.
  • Attend job fairs and networking events to source additional employment opportunities.
  • Maintain a database of viable employment opportunities and develop a job bank.
  • Conduct vocational assessments of employment opportunities to determine requirements.
  • Compile and submit program outcome reports, including referred applicants, onboarded applicants, and hires, bi-weekly.
  • Report monthly on new employment opportunities and act as a liaison between case management and employers.
  • Conduct follow-ups with employers and candidates after referral connections.
  • Assist in Foundation Events as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Nonprofit experience preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in employment sourcing, recruiting, or on-boarding professionals in a corporate environment.
  • Prior staffing, job development, and outreach development experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with Veterans or other homeless populations preferred.
  • Excellent computer literacy including Microsoft Office, Google sheets, etc.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively.
  • Must be a team player and able to work in a collaborative environment.
