About the Role
ARCO is seeking a Traveling Superintendent with five plus years of experience as a lead Superintendent on construction projects throughout the US. The ideal candidate will manage field operations, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and according to specifications, while enforcing safety and quality control policies.
Responsibilities
- Manage construction and administrative activities for field operations.
- Bring projects to completion on schedule, within budget, and per specifications.
- Enforce all Safety and Quality Control policies and procedures.
- Adhere to and implement all company policies and regulations.
- Attend post-award review meetings for project preplanning.
- Participate in preparing construction schedules, organization structure, staff selection, and manpower/equipment requirements.
- Direct and control construction projects efficiently to meet specifications and profit expectations.
- Assist project managers/engineers with material shipment, equipment procurement, and shop drawing approvals.
- Coordinate subcontractor activities for effective integration with project schedules.
- Inform supervisors and subcontractors of construction schedule changes.
- Assist in preparing job progress and cost reports.
- Review and approve requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and other reports.
- Cooperate with owners and their representatives regarding construction progress.
- Cooperate with architects or owner representatives.
- Hold jobsite meetings with project manager and regional manager.
- Report regularly to the project manager on job progress, plans, and potential cost/schedule impacts.
- Maintain a daily diary of significant project facts, events, conditions, visitors, contacts, commitments, agreements, and approvals.
- Direct adherence to the company's safety program.
Requirements
- 5-25 years of experience as a lead superintendent on tilt-up construction projects, preferably on jobs that are a minimum of 100k sf.
- Able to make decisions under tight deadlines.
- Able to organize people, tools, and equipment.
- Able to plan and manage multiple activities.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Ability and willingness to face challenges, direct others, and address conflict.
- Commitment to quality by evaluating and improving processes and meeting customer expectations.
- Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook, and project scheduling programs.
- Act with integrity, supporting the company, its values, and employees.
- Maintain constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
- Possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license.
