About the Role
As a Senior Python Engineer on the Data Science Products team, you will build robust backend systems and infrastructure for machine learning products. This role focuses on designing, building, and operating data-intensive applications and infrastructure to ensure data products are fast, reliable, and scalable. You will own the data ingestion service and collaborate with engineers and data scientists.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-performance APIs using FastAPI to serve machine learning insights.
- Deploy and manage cloud-native services using AWS and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Leverage Kafka for near real-time data delivery.
- Use AI throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Implement robust testing frameworks and system designs.
- Enhance the observability and performance monitoring of production services.
Requirements
- Extensive professional experience in Python backend development.
- Experience building and maintaining highly available backend services at scale.
- Proven ability to design, build, and maintain data-intensive applications and infrastructure.
- Deep understanding of AWS services.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., AWS CDK, Terraform, Pulumi).
- Experience with containerization (Docker and AWS ECS/Kubernetes).
- Experience with Kafka.
