About the Role
The Lead Analyst supports people performance and application processing within the Credit Operations team. This role involves processing and decisioning applications, managing referrals and escalations, and providing ongoing coaching and feedback. You will influence team culture, drive performance excellence, enhance decision-making, ensure regulatory compliance, mitigate risk, and deliver exceptional service.
Responsibilities
- Senior credit underwriter focused on application processing, decisioning, coaching, and compliance support.
- Supports People Managers and technical specialists.
- Acts as an escalation point for credit decisions.
- Coaches and mentors staff.
- Supports onboarding and career development with People Managers.
- Supports QA checks and compliance adherence.
- Acts as a point of contact for the Credit Risk function.
- Supports key projects.
- Primarily focused on application processing and coaching support.
Requirements
- Established Credit/Lending/Underwriting experience in automotive or asset finance.
- Strong understanding of credit principles, risk & financial analysis, and industry regulations (responsible lending and AML).
- Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to build and maintain trusted partnerships with dealers, brokers, salary packagers, and key stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of business and entity structures, including companies, trusts, partnerships, and other complex ownership arrangements.
- Strong proven analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail with the ability to evaluate underwriting quality against established standards.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.
