About the Role
We are seeking a senior Risk Product Manager to lead the strategy and execution for the risk platform that supports Trustly's payment guarantee. This role involves shaping the roadmap, collaborating with Data Science and Engineering on model integration and architecture, and making decisions that impact approval rates, loss exposure, and guarantee economics.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the product direction for risk infrastructure, including decisioning, model integration, rules management, and real-time controls.
- Translate AI/ML model outputs into operational product decisions, including threshold design, feature requirements, monitoring frameworks, and feedback loops.
- Develop a deep understanding of system architecture, data flows, and tooling to identify gaps, support engineering, and write clear requirements.
- Analyze approval/loss tradeoffs at the segment level to optimize risk control performance.
- Facilitate communication between Risk, Engineering, Data Science, Finance, Legal, and Sales teams.
- Manage the product backlog, lead sprint planning, and ensure high-quality story definition and acceptance criteria.
Requirements
- 4–7 years of product management experience with direct experience in risk, fraud, or financial decisioning.
- Understanding of ACH or digital payments mechanics, dispute windows, and settlement timing.
- Experience working with data scientists to shape feature sets, define thresholds, and build monitoring into product design for AI/ML models.
- Proficiency in SQL and ability to engage in technical design discussions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor communication to different audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to make consequential decisions with incomplete information and articulate reasoning.
