Responsibilities
- Oversee clinical operations, lead clinical staff, and ensure regulatory compliance to enhance the health, safety and well being of residents.
- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to nursing staff to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and person-centered care to residents.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans that address the individual needs and preferences of residents.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided, identifying areas of improvement and implementing evidence-based practices to enhance resident outcomes.
- Train, supervise and evaluate nursing professionals, including Registered Nurses (RN), Registered Practical Nurses or Licenced Practical Nurses (RPN/LPN) and Personal Support Workers or Health Care Aides (PSW/HCA).
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, communication and professional growth among team members.
- Provide ongoing education and training to nursing professionals on clinical best practices, regulatory requirements and resident centered care approaches.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and standards governing long-term care homes in Ontario or British Columbia.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to resident care, medication administration and incident reporting to meet regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
- Coordinate and participate in regulatory inspections, audits and surveys addressing any deficiencies and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Implement quality assurance measures to monitor and evaluate the quality of care and services provided to residents.
- Conduct regular reviews of clinical policies, procedures and protocols to ensure alignment with best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify opportunities for quality improvement and implement initiatives to enhance resident care outcomes.
- Collaborate with other members of the interdisciplinary care team, including physicians, therapists, social workers and dietary staff to coordinate care and support the holistic needs of residents.
- Participate in care planning meetings, case conferences and family meetings to discuss resident care needs and preferences and develop comprehensive care plans.
Requirements
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit.
- Must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Record Check applicable to the appropriate province.

Experience Level
- Minimum 1 year experience working as a nurse in Long Term Care
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience working as a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse in a managerial or supervisory capacity in a healthcare setting
Education Level
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN or BScN) or equivalent post diploma education
- Currently registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses
Salary/Compensations
- $69,953-$87,442
