About the Role
As an AI Engineering Intern, you will help build systems that identify mistakes, improve their own behavior, and prove those improvements work. You will work on the agents, models, and infrastructure that turn organic software into something customers can rely on.
Responsibilities
- Help agents learn from their work by shaping the process of updating repository-specific instructions, catching misleading lessons, and testing performance improvements.
- Train and deploy LLM and ML models, fine-tune SoA LLM models, and run experiments to establish production readiness.
- Leverage ML tools such as K-means, t-sne, PCA, and random forest trees to enhance agent capabilities.
- Build agents with end-to-end ownership, handling pre-emptive support, fixes, and customer communication.
- Build evaluations and review tools to define correct answers, create tests for failures, and catch poor output.
- Own projects through delivery, including scoping, building, debugging, and ensuring customer reliance on shipped work.
Requirements
- Currently studying at University of Oxford, or University of Cambridge.
- A silver medal or higher at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) or International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI), or an equivalent level of achievement in another highly competitive endeavor.
- Curiosity to explore unfamiliar areas.
- Willingness to go the extra mile to get things right.
- Discipline to test assumptions.
- Persistence to keep going when the first approach does not work.
- Strong programming ability.
- Something built beyond coursework or tutorials: a model, agent, tool, or application that does useful work.
- A habit of investigating why a system failed and testing whether the fix addresses the cause.
- Clear thinking and the ability to explain decisions, including what was tried and why it didn’t work.
