About the Role
The IPSC (In Plant Service Center) Technician works under the direction of a supervisor in a plant environment and provides a variety of services which may include inspection, testing, cleaning, maintenance, and repair of customer owned or Total Safety U.S. Inc. equipment. Interfaces with customers on a regular basis.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, test, and maintain safety equipment per manufacturer's requirements and document service according to Total Safety U.S. Inc./customer policies and procedures.
- Assist with stocking shelves with clean, tested, and ready to use equipment.
- Pull, stage, and load customer orders onto trucks for delivery.
- Maintain work area and other areas in a clean and orderly condition.
- Perform additional duties after training.
- Issue, receive, track, and inspect equipment as per company/customer requirements.
- Effectively communicate with others and build rapport with customers quickly.
- Work safely and adhere to all Total Safety U.S. Inc. & customer policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license from state of residence and valid proof of vehicle insurance.
- Must possess good driving record and be insurable for Total Safety vehicle insurance while driving company truck.
- Ability to pass internal forklift certification as required.
- Proficiency in the care and use of all sites specific, facility and customer required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
- May need training in Respiratory Protection and fully certified to wear respiratory breathing equipment (Fit Tested).
- Regularly required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Uses hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to sit.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Skills
- Forklift experience preferred.
