About the Role

At HealthPRO-Heritage, we are seeking a PRN Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team in Millbrook, NY. This role involves providing direct resident care activities under the clinical supervision of a Physical Therapist, making a meaningful difference in patients' lives.

Responsibilities

Provide physical therapy treatments to residents according to treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
Assist the Physical Therapist when performing tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures.
Observe, record, and report resident conditions, reactions, and responses to the therapist.
Maintain daily treatment records and document resident progress notes.
Assist with admission screening.
Consult with family members, physicians, and other healthcare professionals as needed.
Assist with the care of the physical therapy department and equipment.
Assist the Physical Therapist with in-service programs and meetings.
Access continuing education opportunities to maintain clinical currency.
Comply with regulatory and professional standards and guidelines.
Attend and participate in rehabilitation team conferences.
Adhere to facility policies and procedures and participate in quality improvement and safety programs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Understand reimbursement by various payers and allocate therapy resources efficiently.
Demonstrate knowledge of OBRA regulations, HIPAA, Local Coverage Determination, and third-party reimbursement guidelines.
Support the company’s commitment to Compassionate Care and project a professional image.
Perform duties independently and recognize situations requiring supervision; assist others willingly.
Maintain the expected productivity level for the position.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved Physical Therapy Assistant program.
Current license or eligible for license in the state of practice.
Experience in a setting serving the same age/type of resident population served by this facility is preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including neat handwriting.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to understand and follow the directions of the Physical Therapist and facility policies.
Ability to safely perform prolonged standing, pushing (up to 35 lbs), lifting (up to 50 lbs independently, over 50 lbs with assistance), stooping, reaching, and balancing.
