About the Role
Join the Office of the CEO and work directly on Flexport's highest-priority problems alongside the CEO, the President, and leadership. You will gain deep expertise in a specific freight mode or region by solving real problems, potentially leading to an operational role within a business unit or expanded scope at the center.
Responsibilities
- Own and solve Flexport's biggest open questions end-to-end, providing actionable recommendations to the CEO.
- Conduct independent analysis, including data pulling, financial modeling, and error identification.
- Engage in fieldwork to understand operational realities, visiting warehouses, ports, and customer sites.
- Manage the operating cadence for a freight mode or region, including weekly metrics and quarterly planning.
- Facilitate problem-solving by identifying and convening key stakeholders.
- Leverage AI to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
Requirements
- 4 to 6 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, a high-growth operating role, or entrepreneurship.
- Ability to build a financial model from scratch and justify all assumptions.
- Proven track record of tackling ambiguous problems, conducting research, and developing actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
- Strong curiosity about the physical movement of goods and an interest in the complexities of the freight industry.
- Excellent written communication skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- A compliance-first mindset, understanding the importance of regulatory adherence in the freight industry.
