About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day functions of restaurant employees, facilities, sales, and costs.
  • Analyze quality levels, guest satisfaction, employee satisfaction, operating costs, and sanitation.
  • Establish and maintain effective employee relations.
  • Conduct interviews, hiring, orientation, training, performance coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions.
  • Attend and contribute to food and beverage departmental meetings.
  • Conduct regular cleaning inspections to ensure compliance with health and hotel standards.
  • Participate in service as necessary.
  • Ensure hotel grooming and appearance standards are met.
  • Control restaurant stocks to meet service requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety procedures and policies.
  • Participate in the preparation of the food and beverage department budget and goals.
  • Conduct administrative work, including schedules, logbooks, opening/closing duties, and checklists.
  • Track and compile sales statistics and other reports.
  • Contribute to hotel committees and events.
  • Maintain all safe standards, ensuring hygiene and prevention measures are met.
  • Adhere to alcohol handling procedures and policies.
  • Adhere to all LQA standards set for the department.
  • Work weekends, holidays, and shift work as scheduled.
  • Perform any other assigned tasks.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in hospitality management.
  • Strong command of food and beverage product knowledge and trends.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fluent in English; a second language is an asset.
  • Previous working experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles and policies.
  • Smart Serve Certification.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Constant standing and walking throughout the shift.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.
  • Constant kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Frequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.
