About the Role
They relieve psychotherapists of administrative burdens through intelligent AI assistance, giving them more time for what matters most: working with patients and providing high-quality therapy.
Responsibilities
- Own features end to end, from problem definition through architecture, implementation, release, and subsequent fixes, covering frontend, backend, and everything in between.
- Make and defend technical decisions, including library selection and feature architecture.
- Integrate AI into the product, building dependable systems around probabilistic output from AI services.
- Build real-time features with WebSocket-based live capabilities where latency is user-visible.
- Ship on both desktop (Electron app) and mobile (React Native app).
- Iterate quickly with continuous deployment and short cycles, ensuring design controls and traceable test evidence for surfaces under EU MDR.
- Take initiative in creating and implementing tickets end-to-end.
Requirements
- Genuinely full-stack with strong React and TypeScript on the front end, and backend experience including API design, data modelling, relational databases, and async/background processing.
- Experience shipping and supporting software that real users depend on, understanding production issues.
- Strong debugging skills across the entire stack.
- Demonstrated autonomy: ability to identify needs, make decisions, and ship solutions independently.
- Empathy for users, specifically therapists under time pressure.
- Clear written English and comfort with asynchronous communication.
- Experience with React, TypeScript, and API design.
- Experience with data modelling and relational databases.
- Experience with async processing.
- Experience with LLM application engineering, including evaluation, prompt pipelines, agent tooling, and latency/cost optimization.
- Experience with Electron or another desktop platform, including distribution, code signing, and auto-update.
- Experience with React Native and publishing to app stores.
- Experience with audio processing, transcription, or other real-time media.
- Experience in healthcare, GDPR-heavy, or other regulated environments.
- German language proficiency.
- Over 5 years of experience.
- Strong autonomy, ambition, drive, and curiosity about the domain.
