About the Role

The Senior Principal Technical Program Manager is a Director/IC role focused on planning and executing highly complex and high-priority programs across DE&E Tech, other Disney technology organizations, and external joint venture partners. This role develops and executes functional strategy and plans to achieve key business objectives, impacting how work efforts are run and performed. The program's capital budget can range from $20 million to over $100 million.

Responsibilities

• Deliver highly complex, industry-leading initiatives with broad impacts on The Walt Disney Company's success.
• Stay connected to the details and nuances of programs, regardless of their origin.
• Solve complex technical problems, set clear program goals, and resolve conflicts.
• Dive deep into technical platforms and their architecture, understanding the impacts of decisions.
• Balance building scalable platform capabilities with accruing tech debt to meet goals.
• Articulate complex technical architecture in a simplistic form for technical and business stakeholders.
• Act as a thought partner to various roles (marketing, product, design, engineering, program) and influence large organizations.
• Understand legal stipulations and proactively gauge their impact on program objectives.
• Deliver results in ambiguous and demanding environments.
• Exhibit a strong bias for action and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Define strategy and translate them into executable roadmaps.
• Ensure overall coordination, quality, and productivity, serving as the primary point of contact for worldwide stakeholders.
• Internalize and apply Disney’s Leadership Principles to guide programs and teammates.
• Focus on fiscal responsibility, tracking spend, managing budgets, and justifying variances.
• Lead the definition and demonstration of program management excellence to mature organizational capabilities.
• Communicate program health frequently to all organizational levels, serving as the source of truth.
• Exemplify leadership through collaboration, work ethic, and creative thinking to inspire others.

Requirements

• Minimum 12+ years of experience managing large-scale, strategic, high-priority software development programs in a global technology organization.
• Expert ability to facilitate effective communication across disparate teams.
• Proven success leading complex, cross-functional projects and programs, driving alignment across Product, Engineering, TPM, and other functions.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, fostering collaboration and synthesizing information for decision-makers.
• Evidence of stellar planning, delivery, and problem-solving skills.
• Superb written and verbal communication, presentation skills, and meeting facilitation skills, especially with senior leadership.
• BA/BS or equivalent experience required; MBA preferred.
